Designed to provide divers with encouragement and reasons to continue their education, DES QUEST supports DAN’s Diving Emergency Specialist (DES) recognition program, the first program of its type to offer credit for knowledge regardless of the agency through which the credential was earned. Participants can earn the Diving Emergency Specialist recognition by participating in the DES Quest, an incentive program running from June 1 through December 31, 2006.

Grand Bahama to get a new artificial reef

Bradford Marine, Grand Bahama, in conjunction with the Grand Bahama Divers Association is happy to announce plans to add to our already well developed artificial reef program. On June 12th, plans are made to sink the tugboat ‘La Rose’ in eighty feet of water east of Bell Channel off the South Shore of Grand Bahama.

Canadian-Based Magazine acquires Immersed

Vancouver, BC, Canada – Phil Nuytten, owner and publisher of DIVER, announces the acquisition of Chester, NY-based immersed: the international diving magazine. The U.S. publication had been produced quarterly from January 1996, originally dedicating itself to a techie audience and then expanding to a more broad-based coverage of the diving world.
