Sunday, February 26 @ 9pm EST
In August 2005, John & Richie led an expedition to the wreck of RMS Titanic. Diving 2 and a half miles down in Russian submersibles, they searched outside the known debris field for new evidence. On their final dive they made an extraordinary find: two large intact sections of the bottom hull of the Titanic in pristine condition with the red bottom paint still on them.

EPA: OK to sink Oriskany
Posted By at 1:22 PM
The Oriskany is going down, and this time there don't appear to be any barriers in the way.
The 888-foot aircraft carrier likely will be towed back to Pensacola in early March from Beaumont, Texas, where it rode out the 2005 hurricane season. It will be sunk before the 2006 hurricane season begins in June, said Pat Dolan, deputy director of communications for the Naval Sea Systems Command.

New technology has revealed a ghost-like image of the sunken cruise liner Mikhail Lermontov in the Marlborough Sounds.
Using sonar that works on a similar principle to ultrasound scanners that show fetuses in the womb, National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research scientist Dr Ken Grange has captured new images of the ship showing the hull, funnel, cranes, bridge and decks.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Maps Ancient Greek Shipwreck
Posted By at 3:53 PM
Robots can do in days what humans take years to accomplish at archaeological sites.
After lying hidden for centuries off the coast of Greece, a sunken 4th century B.C. merchant ship and its cargo have been surveyed by an international team using a robotic underwater vehicle. The team accomplished in two days what it would take divers years to do. The project, the first in a new collaboration between U.S. and Greek researchers, demonstrates the potential of new technology and imaging capabilities to rapidly advance marine archaeology.
