I recently completed 2 video compliations from footage shot by Peter Karropoulos during our ECDT Advanced Canadian Diving Weekend in October. They are being hosted on YouTube and can be accessed here:

The video was shot on the wrecks of the Vickery, the George T. Davies and the Comet.
Thanks once again to Peter K. for shooting the video - who is becoming our ECDT Videographer.
Manatees may be smarter than we think

SARASOTA, Fla. - Back in 1902, a scientist examining the smooth, grapefruit-size brain of a manatee remarked that the organ's unwrinkled surface resembled that of the brain of an idiot. Ever since then, manatees have generally been considered incapable of doing anything more complicated than chewing sea grass.
But Hugh, a manatee in a tank at a Florida marine laboratory, doesn't seem like a dimwit. When a buzzer sounds, the speed bump-shaped mammal slowly flips his 1,300 pounds (590 kilograms) and aims a whiskered snout toward one of eight loudspeakers lowered into the water. Nosing the correct speaker earns him treats.

Lost Diver Alerting Unit Gives Scuba Divers Added Peace of Mind
Posted By at 1:31 PM
Sebastian, FL (PRWeb) November 7, 2006 -- It's every diver's nightmare -- surfacing from a dive, only to learn that their boat has left or cannot be located. Although rare, these events can and do occur. As a result, a leading manufacturer of Maritime Survivor Location Devices (MSLD) is offering an innovative monitoring and recovery system for the dive industry.
The Sea Marshall® Lost Diver 'SOS' Alerting Unit, manufactured by Marine Rescue Technologies, Ltd., is a compact, oil-filled emergency device which can be conveniently integrated into diving gear or a buoyancy compensator (BC). When manually activated, it communicates with a fixed base unit on a dive boat, allowing for swift recovery. It also transmits an emergency homing signal on the International Search and Rescue (SAR) frequency for added protection.
