Help for motion sickness
Posted By at 1:39 PM
For some people the solution is simple. Get plenty of rest the night before and avoid eating greasy food (bacon and eggs for example) shortly before the trip. Drinking alcohol to excess the night before can also be a cause of the queasies.
The next choice is over-the-counter remedies.

Diving with the dolphins
Posted By at 12:00 AM
BY BILL BLEYER
STAFF WRITER
In more than two decades of scuba diving, I've penetrated shipwrecks and hung in a cage while blue and mako sharks circled and grabbed chunks of bait. But none of that seemed as surreal as when I was kneeling on the sand in 35 feet of water off Grand Bahama Island earlier this winter, removed my regulator on cue and then watched as an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin closed in and planted a kiss on my lips.

Scuba-Doo Underwater Motorcycle
Posted By at 12:30 PM
Scuba (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) is an acronym we usually associate with face-masks, breathing tubes and back-mounted tanks, but the Scuba-Doo Motorised Scuba Bike opens a new dimension of underwater exploration by combining a fixed breathing dome that covers the head and shoulders with a highly-manoeuvrable, motorised underwater "motorcycle".

Wreck Diving Magazine Taps Into A Different Market
Posted By at 12:12 PM
In case you didn’t know, there is an excellent alternative to the typical dive magazines that are available today. Wreck Diving Magazine has been rated by many as the best dive magazine in the industry. In a recent on-line auction, more people bid on and purchased Wreck Diving Magazine than any of the other 4 leading magazines participating. In each issue you will find full length stories about the history of the ship, interviews with survivors when available, and of course, the dive itself.

DAN Responds to SSS Press Release
Posted By at 12:11 PM
The DAN Diver Accident Insurance Program has provided coverage for hundreds of thousands of divers and their families, and DAN America’s insurers have paid out more than $20 million dollars in claims to members and treatment facilities around the globe.
During this time, DAN has collected and exhaustively studied a wealth of information on treatment charges. From this, DAN has identified “reasonable and customary” charges for treatment of decompression illness. This information is an important component to any insurance program to assure treatment of injuries at a fair price. This benefits both the insurer and the insured.

Recompression Chamber Network To Stop Accepting DAN Insurance
Posted By at 12:09 PM
The Recompression chamber network branded SSS (Sub-aquatic Safety Services), in service in a dozen popular dive destinations worldwide (and in most cases the only chamber in a several hundred mile radius), has been forced to notify the public that certain facilities in some destinations effective immediately, and others progressively so, will NO longer accept the Divers Alert Network (DAN) AMERICA insurance as a payment method for hyperbaric chamber and medical services.
