Help make this years BBQ and Treasure Hunt the BIGGEST and BEST event to date!

Our last club BBQ was a great success! We had over $3500 to give away in prizes donated by various manufacturers. This year we will be having a great time and raising money for a great cause. This year we are going to help the Glen Cove Animal Shelter.

This year our 2010 BBQ will be held on Sunday, August 1st at Dutch Springs in Pennsylvania.  We will be staring at 9 AM. Each diver who is registered will go diving for "Treasure". The "treasure" - numbered golf balls that will be placed in shallow water (not deeper than 20 feet). Each golf ball will have a prize associated with it. Prizes have been donated by club members and Scuba diving equipment manufacturers. After our dive we will have a "little" food. Everyone joining us – divers and non-divers – will be bringing various food and drink to really make for some great eating. The food has been amazing in the past with people bringing favorite dishes and specialties. During lunch we will give out the prizes. Second and third dives can be done - if you and buddy are so inclined.

If you wish to join us (as a diver) we are asking everyone to make a minimum donation to charity. The charity is the Glen Cove Animal Shelter. The minimum donation is $30 but we hope you will be as generous as you can.

Each diver will need to fill out a registration form and pay a registration fee of $10 if a member of the Long Island Groupers – our dive club – or pay a registration fee of $25 if not a member of the Long Island Groupers. Long Island Grouper members receive a special rental fee of only $50 for everything you need to do the dives – except for mask, fins, snorkel, wet suit boots and wet suit gloves. This price also includes bringing the equipment to the park and back to Tiedemann's.

At this time we are working to get together the prizes from manufacturers and anyone who would like to help a good cause. Prizes can be just about anything.  If you have something to donate, please contact us at the Center. If you can get your company to donate any prizes, that would be a great help. No matter what you can get donated or donate yourself, you can help with the food. We had a great selection of food last year and it helped to make the day just perfect. We will contact everyone signing up for the dive what we need in food, drink, paper goods and portable BBQ's. If you have a portable BBQ, or can borrow one, please let us know.
